Black History Month (BHM) is a yearly celebration held every February to recognize the historic contributions of African Americans to U.S history, culture, and society. From science and politics to art and community leadership.

Pride Month is celebrated in June to honor the identity and rights of the LGBTQ+ community after the 1969 Stonewall riots in Greenwich Village. During this month, LGBTQ+ people take pride in their history, identity, and political achievements.

Seabrook Village became the site of relocation for many interned Japanese Americans as Seabrook Farms suffered a labor shortage as a direct result of the war. In 1944, Seabrook Farms recruited about 2,500 interned Japanese Americans for employment.
