Happy Juneteenth, South Jersey! Juneteenth is a recently recognized federal holiday that celebrates the liberation of all enslaved individuals. Although the Emancipation Proclamation took effect in 1863, it couldn't be enforced in areas still under Confederate control. Consequently, in Texas, the westernmost Confederate state, enslaved people remained unfree until a later time.

The month of June is PRIDE month! We are excited to highlight local events going on in South Jersey for you to enjoy. There are so many things going on in South Jersey, so why not make sure we all explore local and enjoy what we have in our own back yard.
