South Jersey Cultural Alliance is excited to announce an open call for artists in South Jersey to participate as vendors at the Stockton Performing Arts Center in the Spring. SJCA is seeking artists focusing on visuals, arts, crafts, and sculpture before the show and during the intermission of their upcoming programming. Artists must have prints, stickers, or any other materials available and ready to sell to sell. Artists can sell and share their work among visitors at the performance and emphasize the importance of South Jersey arts.

• The Barber of Seville - We are looking for 4-6 Visual Artists (including crafts) to the table before the show and during intermission on Friday, February 9, 2024, starting at 6:30 PM. The deadline to apply is January 14, 2024.

Show description: Rossini's IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA - composed at the age of 24, is considered the finest comic opera in existence! From start to finish it is marvelously crafted, brilliantly inventive, and uproariously funny. The libretto is based on Le Marriage de Figaro of Baumarchais. The setting is Seville in the 18th Century. Count Almaviva, a Spanish grandee, has arrived in Seville disguised as a poor student named Lindoro, in order to woo Rosina, the ward of the pompous Dr. Bartolo, who plans to marry her himself. Almaviva enlists the help of Figaro, the barber, in winning Rosina’s affections. Together they trick Dr. Bartolo and the Count marries Rosina.

• Break The Urban Funk Spectacular - We are looking for 4-6 Visual Artists (including crafts) to table before the show and during intermission on Friday, February 16, 2024 starting at 6:30 PM. Deadline to apply January 21, 2024.

AOCC is hosting an exhibition at Stella Elkins Gallery from Friday, February 2, 2024 - Saturday, February 24, 2024! Our theme is "healing your inner child," and we are accepting submissions of all sizes and mediums (within installable reason). All creatives of color are welcome to apply.

The Julia Zagar Residency for Women Artists was developed in 2016 by community leader, entrepreneur, and arts supporter, Julia Zagar. A trip to Mexico when she was 19 years old ignited Zagar’s lifelong passion for the country and its culture, and she later received her BFA from The University of the Americas in Mexico City. This experience, followed by three years of service in the Peace Corps in Peru in the 1960s prompted her support of international folk artists and the collection of their work. For the last 50 years Zagar has cultivated relationships with artisans throughout Latin America, encouraging their work and exposing Philadelphia to their talent. The goal of the residency is to support contemporary female artists working in the tradition of handcrafting and folk art, with a particular focus on Mexican and South American artisans. Those selected are invited to stay in Philadelphia, engage with the city, and present an exhibition at Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens.

The Library’s art collection, permanent and rotating, has become a popular feature and sets the Cherry Hill Public Library apart from other public buildings. The CHPL Art Gallery (located on the lower level) showcases artists from the amateur to those whose work is known worldwide. The gallery exhibit rotates monthly. In addition to the gallery, other art is displayed throughout the building and many pieces on long-term or permanent loan. The Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts & Sciences, Loveladies, New Jersey, invites applications to "Works on Paper" 2024, our 26th Annual National Juried Competition & Exhibition. Works on Paper includes Drawing, Painting on Paper, Prints, Photography, Digital Works on Paper, and wall hung Paper constructions. A printed catalog of selected artwork is planned to accompany the Gallery exhibition. Juror is Kim Conaty, Curator of Drawings & Prints, the Whitney Museum of American Art, NYC. Three cash Prizes and three Honorable Mentions will be awarded by the Juror. The competition and exhibition is open to emerging as well as established artists working in the continental US. Sixty-five artworks will be selected. Prizes to be awarded and a printed catalog.

The Rutgers Film Co-op/New Jersey Media Arts Center proudly announces the 29th Annual New Jersey International Film Festival. The festival will be held between May 31-June 9, 2024 at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey and will showcase the best in independent film by featuring premiere screenings, special guest appearances by film directors, screenwriters, cast and crew and more.

Every season will offer opportunities for artists to bring their work into the light and share their vision with the community.

Burlington County Parks challenges filmmakers to create a compelling story in under 30 minutes. A special category will be set aside for PARKS Films. Filmmakers who tell a PARKS-related story, shoot a film in one of our parks or use the park as a backdrop to the story will be awarded separately from the other categories regardless of genre or style.

The National Portrait Gallery’s triennial Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition celebrates excellence in the art of portraiture. It is the realization of Virginia Outwin Boochever’s gift to the Smithsonian and the nation, a testament to the transformative power of one individual to make an impact. Every three years, artists living and working in the United States are invited by the museum to submit one of their recent portraits to a panel of experts. The selected artworks reflect the compelling and diverse approaches contemporary artists are using to convey their personal and collective stories through portraiture.
