Exciting Opportunity for New Jersey-Based Artists! WheatonArts is proud to announce the 2025 New Jersey Glass Workshop, funded by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. This unique program offers artists living and working in New Jersey a chance to collaborate, create, and learn in an immersive glass art experience at our internationally-known Glass Studio. Selected artists will engage in hands-on exploration, network with fellow creatives, and advance their artistic practice in a supportive, resource-rich environment. The workshop will take place on the WheatonArts campus from July 21-26, 2025. Lodging will be provided at a nearby hotel, and some meals and evening activities will be included to foster community. "Crowdsourced Funding: A Holistic Approach for Artists": The New Jersey State Council on the Arts is pleased to share part two of The Business of Being an Artist Workshop Series - “Crowdsourced Funding: A Holistic Approach for Artists.” This series of workshops is free and open to any artist, teaching artist, or folk artist who lives and/or works in the state of New Jersey. This webinar will provide a foundation for understanding current practices in crowdfunding creative projects from a holistic artist-centric perspective. Attendees will be guided through the essentials of running a successful campaign. The workshop will cover everything from the basics of crowdfunding and essential tips for success to common pitfalls and strategies for mobilizing supporters. The New Jersey State Council on the Arts is hosting quarterly Teaching Artist Community of Practice meetings. These virtual sessions serve as a platform for teaching artists to share their experiences, discuss new opportunities, and connect with each other and the State Arts Council. Walking Together: Investing in Folklife in Communities of Color supports folklife and traditional arts rooted in communities of color by investing in artists/practitioners and the community organizations that care for them. It is a national funding program managed by the six U.S. regional arts organizations (RAOs). The program provides funding of $15,000 each to traditional artists, practitioners, and keepers of traditional knowledge, as well as $50,000 each to community organizations and collectives that support folklife in communities of color. The Blu-Sky Artist Award (BSAA) is an online international semi-annual prize put forward by Ten Moir Gallery. Through this award, the gallery aims to recognize and encourage upcoming talented artists from across the world and provide them with a platform to showcase their work. The Homiens Art Prize is an international, non-acquisitive art prize open to all artists and art forms. We celebrate our chosen artists across our media, exhibiting their art online where it is viewed by artists and collectors in the United States and throughout the world. Furious Flower invites submissions from emerging writers for its annual poetry prize. Poets with no more than one published book are invited to submit up to three poems (no more than a total of 6 pages) for consideration. The winner and honorable mention receive $1500 and $750 respectively and will be invited to read James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va in September 2025.
