Digitizing Hidden Special Collections and Archives: Amplifying Unheard Voices is a grant competition administered by the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) for digitizing rare and unique content stewarded by collecting organizations in the US and Canada.

Launched in 2021, the program is designed to support efforts to digitize materials that deepen public understanding of the histories of people of color and other communities and populations whose work, experiences, and perspectives have been insufficiently recognized or unattended. Initial Applications for the second round of funding are due by November 1, 2023. See details at Apply for an Award.

These often “hidden” histories include, but are not limited to, those of Black, Indigenous, Latine, and other People of Color; Women; Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Non-binary, and other Genderqueer people and communities; Immigrants; Displaced populations; Blind, Deaf, and Disabled people and communities; and Colonized, Disenfranchised, Enslaved, and Incarcerated people.

The Shubert Foundation is the nation’s largest funder dedicated to unrestricted funding of not-for-profit theatres and dance companies.

The Foundation's Board of Directors believes that the most effective way to encourage the artistic process is by providing the general operating support that reinforces the structure that nurtures its development. Accordingly, the Foundation does not earmark its awards; all allocations are unrestricted.

Although our primary emphasis is on theatre, with a secondary focus on dance, we do also offer some awards to arts-related organizations and MFA programs that help support their growth and advancement.

We are dedicated to thoroughly assessing our non-profit partner programs so that those who are passionate about supporting music education don’t have to.

Through a disciplined bi-annual application process, the D’Addario Foundation awards grants to upwards of 200 non-profit music education organizations each year. 

The Hearst Foundations fund cultural institutions that offer meaningful programs in the arts and sciences, prioritizing those that enable engagement by young people and create a lasting and measurable impact. The Foundations also fund select programs nurturing and developing artistic talent. Supported organizations include arts schools, ballets, museums, operas, performing arts centers, symphonies and theaters.

In Gallery and Online Exhibition. Artists 18 years and older can enter and may submit up to 3 pieces. All work will not be accepted. Open to all media including photography. Only original work, conceived by the artist, signed by the artist. Work submitted may not have been previously shown at Medford Arts Center. This is juried for acceptance. ALL Accepted works will be included in the online exhibit. Entries must be submitted through EntryThingy. All work must be for sale, MAC receives 30% commission on all sales. MAC will notify artist of the sale of their work. Artists are responsible for shipping sold work to the buyer. Artists should price their work to cover shipping as no additional shipping will be charged. Free shipping only applies when shipping within the artist’s country of origin. Year after year, artists who enter this show, continue to demonstrate their creativity and innovation and highlight their best works of art. Exhibit Dates: September 7 – November 4, 2023 Due Date/Intake: August 26 and 27, 12- 4 pm All entries must be dropped off at Smithville Annex Gallery during intake. Entry Requirements: Artists may submit up to three (3) works of art in the form of, paintings, drawings, mixed media, collages, sculptures, and photography, NO crafts or painting copies. Awards: 1st place $300, 2nd place $200, & 3rd place $100 Artist Reception: September 15, 5 - 7 PM

MyMA Artist Grant is a monthly juried grant that provides an unrestricted $500 award to one artist each month. In addition to the winner, our independent jurors recognize 5 artists as honorable mentions for each edition. We publish a written or video profile of the selected artists on MyMA's website and social channels. Submissions for the August edition of the MyMA Artist Grant are open now through September 5th. To ensure accessibility and inclusivity, applications are free.

Any artist living in the State of New Jersey can apply for a relief grant between $1,000 and $2,000. You do NOT have to be a YA artist or an ensemble member of a YA-affiliated group. All applications and awards are granted on an individual basis as opposed to passing through ensembles, arts organizations or business entities. The Art of New Jersey digital exhibition is part of a large-scale public art project at the airport’s recently completed Terminal A, focused on creating a transformative customer experience offering a distinctive New Jersey sense of place. The overall goal of the project is to highlight the broad spectrum of talent, opportunity, and cultures that make our state so vibrant.  The next installment of this annual exhibition, featuring artwork displayed in the digital welcome banner spanning the departures area of Terminal A will be unveiled in early 2024. Artist’s names and artwork information will be included with the display.   Artists should submit up to three (3) examples of completed work to be considered for use. Work samples submitted will be the basis for the Art Advisory Council’s consideration. PANYNJ and their contracted terminal management company, Munich Airport NJ, LLC which is a subsidiary of Munich Airport International, Europe’s only five-star airport, will work with the selected artists to approve final digital image submissions, and schedule the exhibition of the works in digital gallery displays in the terminal. Each selected artist will receive a $1,000 stipend in exchange for use of the artist’s work. Artists will retain copyright to their work.
