No. Like much of art, we all know each exists in conversation with other schools of thought: one defined by a time-tested order, the other often associated with intuition. Both can be methodical and vibrant and full of nuance. Like Peanut Butter and Jelly, these two very different ideas come together to make one heck of a sandwich. And that’s what this show is about. No, not sandwiches: two ideas coming together to make something wonderfully dynamic. For this show, we are seeking work that defies being strictly labeled as abstract or realism, but comfortably exists in both. It’s the perfect theme for the season that brought us such contradictions as the Pumpkin Spice Latte and even Sweet Potatoes. So! What does “Jersey Summer” mean to you? Is it a certain place or destination you frequent? Is it the smell of a certain food or recipe cooking? How about a certain sound you hear endlessly over the summer months? What is it that makes summertime in Jersey special to you? This exhibition is open to all mediums & materials. 2D artwork cannot exceed 48 inches in any direction & 3D artwork cannot exceed 6 ft. or 50 lbs. This exhibition is open to visual artists living or working in New Jersey only. Artists may submit up to 2 pieces of artwork for consideration in this group exhibition. The Greenwich Craft Faire is open to artists and craftspeople working in all mediums who design and create their own work. Work that is not hand-made will not be accepted. Exhibiting artists must be present on both days of the Faire. The Craft Faire provides exhibitor space only. Exhibitors are required to furnish and install tents, boot walls, booth lighting, tables and display units. The 2024 Greenwich Craft Faire team will provide day-before setup assistance, overnight security, booth sitters, and hospitality throughout the show.
