Burlington County Parks | Troll Trek Call for Artists Outdoor Art Installation | In celebration of Thomas Dambo’s “Big Rusty” in Hainesport Township’s Creek Turn Park, Burlington County Cultural Affairs, Department of Parks is encouraging Troll Tourism in the region by organizing a “Troll Trek” with towns including and neighboring Big Rusty and Historic Smithville Park from September through December 2024. Artists will be requested to submit preliminary designs for review by a committee made up of representatives from Burlington County Cultural Affairs and participating towns. Designs will be reviewed for appropriateness to ensure they are feasible, suitable for all ages, non-offensive, and non-political. Sista Creatives Rising (SCR) | Call for Artists | SCR is a project founded by Black, invisibly disabled mother-daughter duo Claire Jones and Amaranthia Sepia. Seven chosen artists of any medium/genre based in the US and Canada will receive a $200 microgrant. Artists must submit 2 minute videos about how funds will help. Funds can be used to help pay for expenses hindering their artistic process, or can be used directly for their art projects. Long Beach Island Foundation | Plein Air Plus | The Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences is pleased to announce the ninth "Plein Air Plus" Competition and Exhibition on Long Beach Island, New Jersey. The juror will pick approximately 50 artists to participate in the Paint Out on Long Beach Island during July and August. The accepted artists will exhibit the paintings created in the LBI Paint Out in the "Island Life" exhibition scheduled for September through October. We welcome artists to apply to a unique Plein Air Event! Our Paint Out is over a two-month period, allowing artists to visit and paint the scenic, seashore environment of Long Beach Island (LBI) New Jersey on their own schedule, any time between July 1st through August 31st. Artists can choose the time of day, weather, and varied locations to paint. Finished paintings will be shown in the exhibition "Island Life" in September. This exhibition will feature the selected artist's Plein Air works and/or studio paintings developed from their Plein Air studies. Long Beach Island Foundation | 35 Under 35 | The Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts & Sciences welcomes entries of original work, created within the last two years and that have not been previously shown at LBIF. Artists 18 to 35 years of age (born after January 1, 1989) and currently residing in NJ, PA, CT & NY are eligible. Long Beach Island Foundation | Works on Paper | The 26th annual exhibition, National Juried Competition "Works on Paper" 2024 at the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts & Sciences welcomes entries of original work, created within the last two years, which explore the varied media which utilize Paper. The Competition and Exhibition is open to emerging as well as established artists working in the continental US. Works on Paper can include, but are not limited to drawing, painting on paper, hand-pulled prints, photographic prints, digitally created artwork displayed as prints, and paper constructions which may be wall hung. Three cash Prizes and three Honorable Mentions will be awarded by the Juror. Artists do not have to be present to receive their awards.
