
County Cultural & Heritage Commission Re-Grant
We are thrilled to support all eight Southern New Jersey County Cultural & Heritage Commissions by expanding promotion of technical information and applications to those interested in applying for their county re-grants for Arts or History the FY26 re-grant this year. Below, we have a list of counties and the information they have already provided on their sites. Please check this blog post often, as we will update it with new information as information continues to come.
- NEW! Special Initiative Funding for Historical Organizations and History-Related Projects: The Atlantic County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs (ACOCHA) is offering a Special Funding Initiative for the first time in FY 2025. Funding is available to non-profit organizations who are new/emerging organizations or organizations requiring a small amount of funding for history-related projects/professional development. This funding has a simplified request process and short time-frame from request to award. The Special Funding Initiative Program is a pilot program intended as an introduction to the County History Partnership Program (CHPP) grant program. Priority will be given to first-time applicants and those who are not receiving FY25 grant funding from the Atlantic County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs. Requests will be accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year.

- The Local Arts Program (LAP) provides funding to local nonprofit organizations (501 (c) (3), 501 (c) (4), and 501 (c) (6)) from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts (NJSCA)/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts. General Operating Support and Special Arts Project grants are available to qualified organizations.

- General Operating Support (GOS) Application - GOS is for long-standing, larger nonprofit arts organizations only. If you have only applied for a Project Grant in the past, please get in touch with our office to discuss whether or not you are eligible.
- Special Project Application
- Grant Application Workshop (Virtual) - Thursday, August 7, 1:00 p.m. Review of the online application and financial reporting followed by a question-and-answer session. This workshop will be recorded. Attending or watching the recorded workshop is required of anyone applying for GOS or SP support. Sign up HERE
Cape May County: Now Accepting Letters of Intent for 2026 Grant Funding. The program will be open for 2026 funding until Friday, September 5, 2025. For questions, contact the Division of Culture and Heritage at (609) 465-1066 or culture@capemaycountynj.gov
- With support from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and the New Jersey Historical Commission, the Division of Culture & Heritage provides Cape May County organizations the opportunity to apply for funding to support operations and projects centered on the arts and history.
- Three forms are required to complete the grant process. These forms can be found under the appropriate program tabs on the left side of this page.

- *An interim survey may be sent out in June of the grant award year.
- Letters of Intent - Due September 5, 2025
- All interested applicants must submit a Letter of Intent (LOI). Applications will not be accepted without prior LOI approval. LOI forms are available online (see the CHPP or LAP tab to the left) or by contacting the department at culture@co.cape-may.nj.us or (609) 465-1066.
- Workshops: At the start of each grant cycle, the Division holds a Grant Writing Workshop to give applicant organizations the opportunity to meet with staff, review proposal requirements, ask questions, and discuss potential project ideas. Organizations planning to apply are strongly encouraged to send a representative—ideally the person responsible for preparing the proposal and writing the narrative.

- Application - Due October 10, 2025
Ocean County: This program is made possible in part by a grant administered by the Ocean County Cultural & Heritage Commission from funds granted by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. This grant is redistributed to local nonprofit organizations based in Ocean County to facilitate excellence in the arts though a competitive, peer review process. The Local Arts Program grants for funding from January 1 through December 31 are now available beginning in July of each year. Submit online or download the forms and guidelines here or contact the Commission office directly for the forms and guidelines to be mailed to you. The New Jersey Historical Commission makes funding available directly as general operating support or special project support to local historical groups and to the Cultural & Heritage Commission. The Commission staff assists in distributing grant guidelines and facilitates the application process. The Commission also re-grants funds locally through direct support it has been awarded under its own general operating support application.
- Applications may be sumitted only after a Madatory Declaration of Intent has been filed on or before August 20, 2025.
- Application DEADLINE: * One Copy of the completed grant application must be received at the OC Parks and Recreation office by Monday,
- September 8, 2025, 5:00 PM.
- * Mail, Hand delivery or Electronic submission is acceptable.
