MORE ABOUT THE ARTIST

Brenda Leonard holds degrees in music history and performance from Northern Illinois University and earned her doctorate in cello performance from the University of South Carolina. She moved to the Cape May area in 2019\. In her previous life in South Carolina, she taught at three colleges and played for several regional orchestras. Here in New Jersey, Brenda teaches cello online and occasionally plays for the Bay Atlantic Symphony. She is active in Cape May MAC’s Museum Education and serves on the board of the Cape May Music Festival. When not involved in music activities or traveling to visit her wonderful grandchildren, Brenda likes to read, write, and cook. Her husband, Alan, is the rector of the Episcopal Church of the Advent in Cape May.

I’m a freelance cellist and private teacher with over 30 years experience. At this time, I teach entirely online.
