Ocean County Arts & Culture Connector
Andrea Sauchelli is the Ocean County Arts & Culture Connector. Working in conjunction with Toms River Artists Community as a host site, Andrea will connect with Ocean County artists, organizations, and businesses while receiving mentorship from SJCA and experts in the field. Andrea also helps advise SJCA on accessibility initiatives to ensure that SJCA resources are accessible to all artists and organizations.
Biography
Andrea Sauchelli is an artist based in Ocean County and explores sensory relationships with nature and our need for nature reconnection. Sauchelli earned a BFA from Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY. The artist has participated in exhibitions, including The Noyes Museum of Art, Stockton University Art Gallery, The Arts and Innovation Center at Rowan College, Marlin Gallery at Camden County College, and DC Gallery and Studio. Sauchelli’s work is part of permanent collections as part of AtlantiCare’s Healing Arts Program. She teaches community art classes for children at the Pine Shores Art Association. Andrea is a Signature Artist of ArtC South Jersey Artists Collective and a Signature Artist at the Noyes Museum of Art in Atlantic City.
Artist Statement
My work is inspired by the preserved woodlands in the Northeast where I live and is a visual response to sensory stimuli while walking through these beautiful forests.
