New Jersey Council for the Humanities | 2024 Stanley N. Katz Prize for Excellence in Public Humanities Nominations | We are pleased to announce the call for nominations for the 2024 Stanley N. Katz Prize for Excellence in Public Humanities. Created to commemorate the Council's 50th anniversary and honor the legacy of scholar and longtime NJCH board member Stan Katz, the prize will recognize a public humanities project from a New Jersey-based organization that demonstrates community engagement and has had a significant impact upon people in the Garden State. New Jersey Council for the Humanities | Sponsorships | NJCH sponsorships support public humanities events, programs, and opportunities that help institutions serving the people of New Jersey explore the public humanities in our lives. NJCH sponsorships are designed to fund activities that advance NJCH’s mission and strategic goals, with the aim of providing greater visibility and access to audiences that are not currently served by NJCH's grantmaking or other programs. NJCH will provide funding up to $3,000 for an organization's event, in return for marketing visibility and exposure. Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts | Grant Application Guidelines |
The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts seeks to advance the visual arts. Through its grantmaking, the Foundation encourages and facilitates the production of original work that expands and enhances the contemporary art field. Funding is provided to arts organizations and cultural institutions that support artists for projects covering the full spectrum of artistic activity and every phase of the creative process. Grants are provided in the following categories: curatorial research fellowships, up to $50,000; exhibition support, ranging from $60,000 to $100,000; and multiyear program grants, ranging from $60,000 to $100,000, for visual arts programming including exhibitions, residencies, public artworks, screenings, performances, lectures, publications, mentorships, and other professional development opportunities. | Deadline: March 1 and September 1, annually | More information here.
Responsible Technology Youth Power Fund | Grant Applications OPEN | The Responsible Technology Youth Power Fund aims to support youth and intergenerationally led organizations shaping the responsible technology movement. U.S.-based organizations can apply for work that is national or international. Groups based outside the United States can receive funding if they have an affiliation with a U.S.-registered 501(c)(3) organization. Grants are available to youth and intergenerationally led organizations working in the responsible tech space on topics like artificial intelligence (AI), mental health and well-being, and climate change. Projects could focus on topics including, but not limited to, the intersection of technology and mental health; harnessing connective opportunities technology provides to support belonging and well-being; building a better (safer, fairer, and more compassionate) world online; supporting learning, discovery, and action focused on AI, mental health and well-being, or climate change; bridging the frontiers of artificial intelligence, data science, and social impact; and empowering youth leaders who are building better digital worlds.Geographic scope: U.S. and internationally. AARP Foundation | Grant Funding: Scaling Equitable and Effective Solutions | AARP Foundation focuses on improving the financial resilience of people age 50+ living with low incomes. Through the Scaling Equitable and Effective Solutions request for applications, the Foundation will support organizations looking to increase their impact on older adults by piloting a scaling strategy. The Foundation seeks to support programs and projects that will materially improve the circumstances of 50+ people with income at or below 250% of the poverty line, lift 50+ people's income above 250% of the poverty line, prevent 50+ people living with low income from falling below 250% of the poverty line, and consult older adults (50+) in the development and implementation of a program or create volunteer opportunities for older adults. Projects can be direct service in nature or non-direct service, including an organization’s capacity building, systems change, or implementation. Organizations from anywhere in the U.S. are eligible. Geographic scope: U.S., with emphasis on states and territories with high levels of senior poverty. Grant amount: Up to $2 million in total funding is available. The Pilcrow Foundation | Children’s Books Project Program Grants | The Pilcrow Foundation’s mission is to provide children’s books to rural public libraries across the United States. Through its Children’s Book Project Grants, the Foundation provides a two-to-one match to rural public libraries that contribute $200 to $400 through a local sponsor for the purchase of up to $1,200 worth of new, quality, hardcover children’s books. Grant recipients can select books best suited for their community from a list of over 700 quality hardcover children’s books. To qualify for the grant, libraries must be located in a rural area within the 50 U.S. states, have a limited operating budget, have an active children’s department, and raise $200 to $400 through a local sponsor. Libraries with total operating budgets of less than $50,000 will receive funding priority. (The Foundation also offers non-matching disaster relief grants of $800 worth of children’s books to libraries serving rural communities in the United States affected by recent tornadoes, hurricanes, flooding, wildfires, or other natural disasters.) Seventh Generation Fund for Indigenous Peoples, Inc. | Currently Accepting Grant Proposals | Seventh Generation Fund for Indigenous Peoples is dedicated to Indigenous Peoples’ self-determination and the sovereignty of Native nations. The Fund is currently accepting applications from Native-led and community-generated organizations through its four grant program areas: Community Vitality, with a focus on strengthening Indigenous identity by revitalizing cultural lifeways, language, creativity, and food sovereignty; Flicker Fund, which responds to vulnerable and stressed Indigenous communities on the frontlines of climate-caused crisis and emergencies; Land, Water, and Climate, with a focus on Indigenous Peoples’ traditional relationships and responsibilities to land, water, community, and spirit; and Thriving Women, with a focus on Indigenous women and girls’ inherent strength and capacity for healing, leadership, and regenerating positive futures. Nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status, federally-recognized tribal nations, applicants with a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor, and Seventh Generation Fund affiliate projects are eligible to apply. National Park Service | Historic Preservation Fund | Underrepresented Communities Grants | The National Park Service’s Underrepresented Communities Grant Program works towards diversifying listings submitted to the National Register of Historic Places. The Lewis Center for the Arts at Princeton University | Princeton Arts Fellowship Application | Princeton Arts Fellowships are awarded to artists whose achievements have been recognized as demonstrating extraordinary promise in any area of artistic practice and teaching. The Lewis Center for the Arts at Princeton University | Hodder Fellowship Application | Potential Hodder Fellows are composers, choreographers, performance artists, visual artists, writers, translators, or other kinds of artists or humanists. A $92,000 stipend is provided for this 10-month appointment as a Visiting Fellow. The GRAMMY Museum | The GRAMMY Museum Grants Program Application | The GRAMMY Museum Grants Program provides support to organizations and individuals for efforts that advance the archiving and preservation of the music and recorded sound heritage of North America and for research projects related to the impact of music on the human condition. Preservation grants support projects that advance the archiving and preservation of music and recorded sound heritage. Research grants support efforts that study the links between music and early childhood education, treatments for illnesses and injuries common to musicians, hearing loss alleviation, and the impact of music therapy on populations from infants to the elderly. National Endowment for the Humanities | Climate Smart Humanities Organizations Program |
The Climate Smart Humanities Organizations program strengthens the institutional base of the humanities by funding operational assessments and strategic planning efforts to sustain and protect historical, cultural, educational, intellectual, and physical assets from the risks of climate change. Projects will result in a climate action, resilience, or adaptation plan including detailed assessments, measurable actions, and expected outcomes. Cumberland County Cultural & Heritage Commission | Grants | The Cultural & Heritage Commission maintains a limited portion of its budget for special requests. Special requests are for those situations in which a Cumberland County non-profit organization has never applied to another grant program from the Cultural & Heritage Commission before and/or due to extenuating circumstances was unable to meet the deadline or requirements of its other grant programs. A Special Request application is available below and it describes the organization and the program or event for which funds are being sought. An organization can only receive a Special Request grant once, and future funding from the Commission must be sought through one of its other granting programs. The maximum amount which may be requested through a Special Request is $2,000 and the applicant will be asked to attend a Cultural & Heritage Commission meeting to present his or her request. New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) | Activation, Revitalization, And Transformation (A.R.T.) Program - Phase II | A.R.T. – Phase II is a competitive grant program that will disburse $15,000,000 in ARP SLFRF funding to address the impact of COVID-19 in 31 selected municipalities throughout the state.
