Programs, resources, training and more for SJCA members

SJCA provides access to a comprehensive menu of programs and services, specifically designed for individuals and organizations working in arts, culture and history pursuits as well as artists and other partners.

Programs, Seminars & Workshops: Throughout the year, SJCA taps its broad network of expert members and leadership to offer technical assistance programs specifically designed for  cultural organizations and artists.  SJCA has mentors available with a full array of skill sets to help smaller organizations.

Marketing Initiatives: Through its Cultural Tourism Initiative, SJCA works with the tourism industry to increase awareness, support and participation in cultural activities. Regional marketing efforts, such as annual magazine advertisements and digital marketing, raise awareness and visibility on behalf of our members and their programming.

Aiken Encore Awards: Each spring, this annual awards event offers all members the opportunity to recognize their choice of honorees before peers and supporters from the public and private sectors. The Encore Awards program serves three main goals:
• Increasing exposure for member organizations
• Encouraging member organizations to network with colleagues
• Providing a mechanism for members to pay formal tribute to the individuals, companies and organizations that have helped move their missions forward
The event also includes the Lillian Levy Standing Ovation Award, presented to an individual or organization that has significantly contributed to the promotion of the arts, history and culture in the region.

Digital outreach programs

Programs for Schools: A teacher’s guide to the arts, culture, history and science in southern New Jersey, is an invaluable resource for educators planning cultural and artistic field trips. It can be found on the left hand page of our member profiles on  Information includes descriptions of all the educational programming offered by SJCA members, including artist-in-school residencies, concerts, exhibits, classes, demonstrations and performances. Covering music, theatre, dance, visual arts, history and the humanities, the guide also identifies programs that meet NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards and those that provide teacher prep materials. SJCA’s comprehensive website features frequently updated, interactive information for members and visitors as well as a searchable member directory organized by area of interest and geography. The website receives an average of 4,500 unique visitors each month.

Digital Marketing:  SJCA will be employing a marketing firm to insure inclusion of member events in the tourism industry’s digital marketing.
