  • Subsidized Social Media Promotions: We promote your programs, events, and news on multiple social media platforms. We boost and share with partners to increase outreach and engagement.
  • Digital Marketing: SJCA works with SPARK Creative to create and place digital advertising
  • Cultural Tourism Initiative: SJCA works closely with the tourism industry to increase awareness, support and participation in cultural activities.
  • Conference Representation: SJCA staff attend the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA), New Jersey State League of Municipalities Convention, and New Jersey Tourism Industry Associations Tourism Conferences to represent our members and distribute their materials and information.

FREE OR DISCOUNTED PROGRAMS, SEMINARS, WORKSHOPS, AND NETWORKING EVENTS:

Throughout the year, SJCA taps its broad network of experts and leaders in the arts & culture community to offer technical assistance programs specifically designed for cultural organizations and artists.

  • Mentorship Program: SJCA has mentors available with a full array of skill sets to help smaller organizations and professionals. Learn best practices and get advice from industry leaders in your field.
  • SJCA Annual Meeting: This annual gathering allows members and network with colleagues over lunch while the SJCA introduce and ratifies new board members, discusses SJCA goals, and discusses the tools and initiatives we provide to help you successfully advocate to funders, local and county administrators, and legislators.
  • Professional Development, Webinar and Networking Events: Members can take part in two (2) Professional Development workshops, six (6) Webinar/Speaker programs, and several Networking evening events.

AIKEN ENCORE AWARDS:

Now with a fresh new format, the annual Encore Awards program provides networking opportunities, increases exposure, and enables member organizations to recognize and honor their cultural champions (individuals, companies, or organizations) who support and help move their missions forward.

  • Members Nominate Encore Award Honorees: Offers members the opportunity to recognize their choice of honorees before peers and supporters from the public and private sectors.
  • Lillian Levy Standing Ovation Award: This award is presented by the SJCA to an individual or organization that has significantly contributed to the promotion of the arts, history, and culture in the region.
  • Award Winner Showcase: Encore Award recipients are permanently featured online.

ARTS IN EDUCATION INITIATIVE:

The SJCA supports Arts in Education and works closely with its membership and Arts Ed Now to help increase arts and culture programming in South Jersey’s schools by providing information and resources to our members and South Jersey school systems.

  • Digital Arts & Culture Program Guide (coming soon): Our teacher’s guide to the arts, culture, history and science in south New Jersey, is an invaluable resource for educators planning cultural and artistic field trips.
    • Information includes descriptions of all the educational programming offered by SJCA members, including artist-in-school residencies, concerts, exhibits, classes, demonstrations and performances.
    • Covering music, theatre, dance, visual arts, history, and the humanities, the guide also identifies programs that meet NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards and those that provide teacher prep materials.

RESOURCES, STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS, AND ADVOCACY:

SJCA partners with multiple cultural organizations, nonprofits, and state agencies to act as both a collector and disseminator of information. This information is used to facilitate research, funding, and development of programs and services. Members are provided access to this information via the SJCA Member Portal, e-blasts, and SJCA social media.

  • Information and Connections: SJCA serves as a clearinghouse for information and encourages members to participate in the programs and services of fellow service providers such as ArtPride NJ Foundation, Advocates for NJ History, the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, NJ Theatre Alliance as well as professional development through other nonprofits.
  • Data Collection and Research: SJCA gathers and facilitates data collection on cultural impact for advocacy purposes.
  • Member Advocacy: SJCA works with multiple state agencies, nonprofits, and tourism groups such as the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, Discover Jersey Arts, Arts Ed Now, Visit South Jersey, NJEA, NJ Travel Industry Association, and many more to promote, advocate and increase funding for arts and culture programming four our members in South Jersey.
  • Committee Participation: Members may have the ability to join an SJCA committee to increase professional networking and make a tangible impact on SJCA programs and initiatives.
  • Vendor Discounts: Discounted services for IT, and payroll services are available to SJCA members.
  • Access to Assistive Listening Equipment: A limited number of assistive listening devices are available for SJCA members to borrow for programs and performances.
