Museums, Festivals, Performances!

“Stand watch!” aboard Battleship New Jersey, the nation’s most decorated battleship.  You can even spend the night – sleep in the bunks, eat in the crew’s mess, and even participate in the simulated launch of a missileAttend an afternoon concert by ChildrenSong, a group of talented young singers.  Become inspired at a Stedman Gallery exhibition at the Rutgers Camden Center for the Arts, and then listen to orchestral music in the Gordon Theater by the Haddonfield Symphony.

Plan an early morning stop at the Camden Children’s Garden where interactive garden exhibits make exploring nature fun for both young and old.  Tour the Four Seasons Butterfly House where visitors can observe over 100 butterflies in their natural tropical habitat.  Next visit the Garden State Dance Festival which celebrates contemporary and traditional dance styles.  After a relaxing dinner take in a show by the Voorhees Theatre Company.

Tour the Camden County Historical Society’s Pomona Hall, a Georgian mansion which recreates the domestic life of a wealthy Quaker family in Colonial South Jersey.  You’ll see a collection of handcrafts, fire fighting equipment, early American glass, toys and lighting devices.  During the afternoon, take the kids to the Garden State Discovery Museum where interactive exhibits educate and inspire imaginations with creative and artistic hands-on play.  Sit back and relax at an evening performance by the Garden State Chorale, the Greater South Jersey Chorus, or the South Jersey Opera Association.
