Start at Tuckerton Seaport, home to the Tucker’s Island Lighthouse. Enjoy the exhibits and watch craftspeople carving decoys and building boats throughout this maritime village dedicated to preserving the heritage and traditions of the Jersey Shore. Next, travel north to The Colonel Charles Waterhouse Historical Museum to enjoy the carefully researched and beautifully rendered paintings and sculptures that pay tribute to brave Americans from the Revolutionary times to the present. In the evening catch a performance by the Garden State Philharmonic.
Make a morning stop at the Ocean County Artists’ Guild to watch an artist demonstrate her talents. Then off to the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences for a craft show or your late morning class. Snap your fingers to your favorite musical at a Surflight Theatre matinee. Make sure you save room for an ice cream cone at intermission! After your promenade along the waves, relax during an evening performance at the OceanFirst Theater.
Next day travel south and visit the Noyes Museum of Art. The museum prides itself on its carved decoy collection – look for the fish decoys uniquely displayed in the windows. Take a short trip back to the Stockton Performing Arts Center for an evening performance of the South Jersey Area Wind Ensemble.
