Not a Gamble...

On the first day discover some hidden treasures in Atlantic City.  Garden Pier is home to the Atlantic City Historical Museum and the Atlantic City Art Center.  Watch a video showcasing Atlantic City’s memorable highlights and marvel at the collection of historical artifacts.  Then walk across the Pier to three galleries of art exhibitions by regional artists.  The Absecon Lighthouse is only a few blocks away, but 228 steps to the top!  What a view!  Around the corner is the Atlantic City Aquarium – home to one of the most extensive coral collections on the East Coast as well as a touch tank for the inquisitive (young and old).  Then walk through the Crafter’s Village at Historic Gardner’s Basin to find that perfect souvenir. Enjoy a relaxing evening performance at Dante Hall Theater of the Arts.

Wake up early and visit the Atlantic City Free Public Library to peruse your favorite newspaper.  If it’s the second weekend in August, you can enjoy a stroll on the boardwalk past Arts Alive!, an arts festival – fine art, fine craft, and music!  Then off to the Ventnor City Cultural Art Center for a dance or art class.  An evening performance by the Margate Players will be the perfect fairytale ending to your day!

You’ll be thrilled to visit Lucy the Elephant, a six-story, 90 ton elephant that you can climb!  After a swim in the Ocean, a late afternoon visit to the Jersey Shore Children’s Museum will delight the children and give adults a welcome respite.
Let the Somers Point Jazz Society provide the entertainment this evening.
