Summer Arts Camp

Appel Farm is the home of an internationally-recognized residential summer arts and music camp. Founded in 1960 by Albert and Clare Appel, it is a place where young artists ages 7-17 develop confidence and skills, make new friends, and interact creatively with artist-educators from around the world. Appel Farm Arts Camp offers programs in music, theater, dance, visual arts, photography, video, recording arts, creative writing, sports and swim, along with traditional camp activities like campfires, dances, carnivals, and off-camp trips. Families are able to get a taste of the summer camp during the fall and spring Family Camp Weekends. Contact Camp Directors Tracy Power, tpower@appelfarm.org or Cara Corradetti, ccorradetti@appelfarm.org to receive further information about the summer arts camp.

Arts Education at Appel Farm

Throughout the school year, Appel Farm Arts & Music Center provides local communities with a wide range of arts programs including Creative Connections, visual arts and theatre residency programs in schools; HeART & Health, visual arts and theatre residency programs in nursing homes and health related facilities; on-site arts classes for K-5th grade; dedicated after-school arts classes for school districts; leadership retreats for Girl Scouts; and teacher development workshops. Appel Farm just celebrated its third annual Salem/Gloucester Teen Arts Festival, where students/teachers/parents joined together for exhibits and presentations of middle and high school students’ work. In the past, Appel Farm has created school curriculum partnerships with the Salem County Vocational Technical Schools and the Arthur P. Schalick High School to manage the Salem County Theatre, Dance and Visual Arts Academies, and the Pleasantville School District to develop their arts programming. Appel Farm currently is working as the lead partner of the Families to College Program, helping Bridgeton area high school students achieve educational success moving into college or the work force. Contact Kerri Sullivan, ksullivan@appelfarm.org, for more information about any of the educational programs that are offered.
