Join us for our NEW WORKS DEVELOPMENT SERIES: Live Performance Reading of Kelly McCarthy’s new play, CHASING HEMINGWAY on June 26th @ 7:30PM!

This reading will feature a fun post-performance discussion with the Cast, Playwright, and Patrons. Come Make Theatre History!

CHASING HEMINGWAY: His last novel was a critical failure. He’s about to sign divorce papers from his third wife. And to top it off, Brendan Brogan’s been told his time is running out. In a desperate attempt to regain his former stature as a preeminent writer of his time, he summons his big-shot New York City book editor, daughter and his first wife, a former B Hollywood actress to the Key West cottage they once shared as he attempts to pull together his memoir, the final work of his oeuvre, in the hope of emulating his literary hero Earnest Hemingway. Tensions rise and secrets are revealed that will altar their lives forever.

Kelly McCarthy is the author of THE KING OF EAST JABIP, her first play. In 2016, JABIP ran for five-weeks to sold-out enthusiastic audiences at the Eagle Theatre. JABIP is currently in pre-production to be made into a feature film by Eagle Entertainment, the motion picture producing arm of Eagle Theatre which will be directed jointly by Ed Corsi and Ted Wioncek III, with Kelly penning the screenplay. Prior to becoming a playwright, Kelly spent 15-years as a professional newspaper and magazine journalist, serving on several editorial boards, , serving on several editorial boards, including Main Line Today magazine and Directors & Boards magazine, a leading national corporate governance journal. Also, as an entertainment writer, Kelly interveiwed Robert Duvall, Barry Levinson, and Jamie Redford, among others. Kelly formerly worked as an actress in television, radio, and theatre. Onstage, she appeared in Wait Until Dark at People’s Light & Theatre Company, in Malvern, Pennsylvania, and at Cape May Stage, in Cape May, New Jersey in Neil Simon’s, I ought to be in Pictures and Last of the Red Hot Lovers.
